Pacifico Energy Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Hiroki Matsuo, “Pacifico Energy”) is pleased to announce that on February 10, 2021 that we joined a coalition of corporations aiming to create a sustainable carbon-zero society by 2050, the Japan Climate Leaders Partnership (JCLP), as a supporting member.
Since our establishment in 2012, we have developed, built, and operated a large number of renewable energy power plants while working closely with local residents in order to contribute to reductions in the burden on the environment of Japan and improvements in the energy self-sufficiency rate of Japan, and to realize a sustainable society. At the same time, we are actively working on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through our business endeavors, while simultaneously ensuring economic, social and environmental value.
In addition, we are committed to playing a major role in realizing a sustainable carbon-zero society gentle on the global environment.
By joining JCLP, we aim to demonstrate to society not only our intentions but highlight our actions to realize a society consistent with the Paris Agreement, and we will continue contributing to the sustainable development of international and regional areas through the spread of renewable energy. Established in 2009 as a coalition of corporations in Japan, the JCLP urges that the business sector maintain a sense of urgency on climate action, and be proactive in realizing a carbon-free society. Including companies representing Japan from a wide range of industries 169 Companies have joined the coalition as of present (February 2021). The total sales of member companies are 125.8 trillion yen, and the total power consumption is approximately 52.7Twh (approximation including overseas revenue).
